In our most recent study we saw the reason why Antichrist attempts to change God’s times and law. At this time we shall notice the method that is employed in the great conflict. Looking at Revelation chapter 12 and verse 17 we read , “And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” We found in a prior reading that the word “woman” in symbolic Bible prophecy simply means a church. In this text we notice that this particular church represents God’s true people whereas the harlot woman in Revelation 17 is a corrupt church. Let us notice once again, the instruction that is given to God’s people. In Revelation 14 : 7, we are told to worship Him who made heaven and earth. We have already noticed beyond a shadow of a doubt that Jesus Christ is our Creator. We also saw without a doubt that it was He that wrote the 10 commandments on tables of stone ( Exodus 31 : 18 ). After reading the 10 commandments it is clear that one of the commandments Jesus instituted points directly to Him as Creator ( see Exodus 20 : 11). If at this time we think we have observed all that there is about this important subject, just take a look at Ezekiel chapter 20 and verse 20, where we read “hallow My Sabbaths, and they will be a sign between Me and you, that you may know that I am the Lord your God.” Don’t forget who it is that’s speaking in this scripture. It’s Christ Himself that’s Lord. In the beginning of our study we were informed that the antichrist power works to put itself “in place of ” Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. So if we look at just one more text found in this chapter we will surely see the importance of the great test that’s before us. Verse 12 of Ezekiel chapter 20 reads, “Moreover I gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between them and Me, that they might know that I am the Lord who sanctifies them.” In essence Jesus is telling us that if we truly want to know Him as our Lord and Saviour, we will be keeping His Sabbath holy.
