The question is asked if Galatians chapter 4 and verse 10 is referring to the Sabbath of the Lord. It reads,” You observe days and months and seasons and years.” Looking back to verse 9 , we will notice a line that reads “how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage? The key to unlock the meaning of this scripture is to notice the words weak (lacking) and beggarly (worthless) elements. The right answer to our question is in one of the most easy to understand verses of scripture. We read in Isaiah chapter 58 verses 13 and 14, ” If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, From doing your pleasure on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy day of the Lord honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, Nor finding your own pleasure, Nor speaking your own words, Then you shall delight yourself in the Lord; ” It is not possible that something God calls, “My holy day and we call a delight”, would in any sense be ever referred to as weak and beggarly and leading to bondage. We should also notice again and again the first sentence of verse 14. Here we see the reason why there is any controversy pertaining to God’s holy day. It is because someone desires that you “not” delight yourself in the Lord.”
